Active
    

Active membership shall be open to any physician residing and licensed to practice in the State of Texas who is certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or has completed two or more years of Neurology Residency approved, for the purposes of certification, by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.  Active membership may also be granted upon review and special permission by the Executive Board. 

Yearly dues are $75.00

 

Associate
    

Associate membership shall be open to:

  1. physicians partially trained in and/or practicing clinical Neurology who are not eligible for Active membership,
  2. physicians practicing in clinical fields related to Neurology,
  3. persons, including physicians and holders of an advanced degree,  practicing or engaged in non-clinical fields relating to Neurology. 

Yearly dues are $15.00

 

Affiliate
    

AFFILIATE – Affiliate membership shall be open to non-physicians or advanced degree holders who practice or are engaged in clinical and non-clinical fields relating to neurology or individuals with undergraduate degrees and a minimum of three years work experience in clinical neurology and/or neuroscience research. Neurology professionals include and are limited to doctors of philosophy, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, physician assistants, registered nurses, and others with special qualifications as determined by and at the discretion of the Board of Directors and upon recommendation from the Membership Committee.

Yearly Dues are: $15.00

 

Fellow
    

FELLOW – Fellow membership shall be open to those who fulfill the following criteria:

  1. Meet the criteria for Active membership, and have been Active members of the Society for no less than seven (7) years,
  2. Have attended no fewer than five (5) annual meetings after becoming an Active member,
  3. Have demonstrated special achievement in the neurosciences by providing documentation of one of the following: service as a member of the TNS Board of Directors or committee member; service as an officer of a state, regional, national, or international neurological society; consistent, documented service in the area of clinical neurology; or other unusual accomplishments as determined by the Board of Directors,
  4. Whose overall professional reputation and standing, as determined by the Board of Directors of the Texas Neurological Society qualifies such physician for this highest category of membership.

An exception may be the election of a neurologist of unusual accomplishment at the discretion of the Board of Directors of this Society on recommendation by the Membership Committee.

Fellow members dues are $75

Resident
    

Resident membership shall be open to all residents enrolled in an approved Neurology Residency training program in the State of Texas.  Application shall be made in the usual manner and shall be accompanied by proof that the applicant is in fact currently in such a training program as described above.  Resident members may apply for elevation to Active status with the Society upon the completion of their training program and completion of their Residency.  Resident members have no vote in Society matters and cannot hold Society office.  Resident members are the invited guests of the Society to all Society functions including luncheon and dinner meetings at no cost to themselves. 

Yearly dues are $0.
