If you are a neurology resident enrolled in an approved Neurology Residency training program in Texas, you should consider joining TNS today.

Benefits of Resident Membership:
  • It's Free!
  • Complimentary registration at TNS conferences.
  • "Support your Future Partner” program offers housing stipends to resident members at each conference – your hotel room will be paid for by TNS.
  • Practice management courses tailored to your future career.
  • Opportunities to network with active members from both the academic and private practice worlds.
  • Resident Section is active and will help you get involved with TNS.
Requirements:

Resident Membership shall be open to all residents and fellows in an approved Neurology Residency training program of the State of Texas.  Application shall be made in the usual manner and shall be accompanied by proof that the applicant is in fact currently in such a training program.  Resident members may apply for elevation to Active status with the Society upon the completion of their training program and their meeting the above requirements for Active membership.  Resident status is discontinued after completion of the Residency, dismissal from the Residency training program, or changing to a Residency Program not located in the State of Texas.  Resident members have no vote in Society matters and cannot hold Society office.  Resident Members are the invited guests of the Society to all Society functions including luncheon and dinner meetings at no cost to themselves.

Annual Meetings

To be eligible for stipend, poster competition, and/or case presentation you must register to attend the TNS Annual Meeting. Registration will open in November 2018.

Resident Stipend

The Texas Neurological Society invites its neurology resident members to the upcoming Winter Conference at the Hyatt Regency in Austin, TX. As a society benefit, TNS is offering financial assistance for lodging for resident members of the Society. This offer is open to TNS resident members who meet the criteria.

TNS Active Members have contributed to a "Support your Future Partner” fund to help with this cause. If you are chosen, TNS will reimburse you in full for up to two nights’ lodging (room, tax,  and self-parking) at the host hotel or a hotel with an equivalent or lower rate. You will be responsible for making your own hotel arrangements. Keep your hotel receipt, and TNS will reimburse you following the conference. Recipients will be responsible for their own travel costs and any other registration fees.

Criteria:
  • You must be a TNS resident member OR have submitted an application for membership (it's free!).
  • Recipients will be chosen simply on a first-come, first-served basis, and equal percentage of participants chosen from each neurology program in Texas.
