Appddiction Studio is a contracting company which assists government agencies in staffing positions as needed. We are seeking a Neurologist to support Ft. Hood, TX. on a newly awarded contract.

Specific Tasks:

Facilitate patient access to medical care by recommending appropriate referrals to other health care providers in accordance with MTF policies and regulations.
Prepare all records and reports as may be required in support of services rendered and as required by the MTF.
Take part in clinic Quality Assurance Program as required to meet the standards of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations.
Major Duties: Serves as a board-certified physician in the Traumatic Brain Injury Clinic, responsible for the examination, diagnosis and treatment of the full range of outpatients seen in the clinic.
In an outpatient clinic, the applicant performs a wide range of medical duties covering adult neurology specialty with emphasis on neurophysiologic testing and interpretation and evaluation of patients with neuromuscular disorders. Examines patients, orders and evaluates the full range of neurophysiology, radiology and laboratory tests, makes diagnosis and prescribes appropriate treatment to include drugs, plasmapheresis, nursing and dietary care, ancillary therapies (physical, occupational, and speech). Makes referrals to neurosurgery for urgent issues, and decompensation of chronic neurologic conditions. Communicates with patients and refers patients back to the primary care manager for management of diseases outside the specialty of neurology. Provides prescription renewal and telephone consultative services. Provides recommendations or definitive evaluation for neurology problems in the Tricare referral region through phone consultation, telemedicine, and authorization and evaluation of air evacuation patients as appropriate. Periodically provides episodic care to clinic patients on a walk-in basis. Evaluates and treats patients with multiple complicated problems who were screened and referred by the Emergency Room for urgent or emergent neurologic issues. Use of the electronic record for consult located in CHCS is required. A full working knowledge of electronic data retrieval in the electronic record system is required.

May teach and provide consultation and clinical supervision to other health care providers (nurse practitioners, physician’s assistants, medical students, interns, residents, and fellows). Serves as occasional consultation service for patients admitted to the hospital. The contract HCP should have hospital admitting privileges.
May perform clinical or laboratory research or provide clinical supervision to house staff performing research.

Qualifications:

The contract HCPs shall be a Neurology Physician who is competent, qualified and adequately trained to perform assigned duties. The contract Neurologist performing under this contract shall perform services under the control and general supervision of the Chief of the applicable department or his/her designated representative. The contractor shall meet the following minimum qualifications.

Be a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Osteopathy (D.O.) who has completed an internship and residency in an accredited Neurology Training Program and is board certified or board eligible in Neurology. Must meet all licensing/certification requirements to perform as a Neurology Physician. Must have and maintain a valid, unrestricted license in one of the 50 states in the U.S., the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, Guam, or the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Foreign medical graduate physicians shall possess a valid certificate from the Educational Council for Foreign Medical Graduates.

Experience. The Neurologist shall have a minimum of two years recent experience having been continuously employed in the practice of Neurology or in training in the United States for the two years prior to commencement of services under this contract.

Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately diagnose and treat diseases and injuries to include, but not limited to the following:
Migraine
Epilepsy
Radiculopathy
Peripheral Neuropathy
Vertigo
Multiple Sclerosis
Parkinson’s Disease
Traumatic Brain Injury
Vestibular
Neuromuscular Disease
Myopathies
Polyneuropathies
Headaches (not just migraines)
Non-Traumatic Brain Injury

Have sufficient experience to be able to adequately perform the following medical procedures, to include, but not limited to the following:
Electroencephalograms (EEGs)
Evoked Potentials
Electro diagnostic Testing and interpretation to include: routine nerve conduction studies of the upper and lower limbs as well as needle EMG studies.
Botulinum injections for spasticity or migraines
Electromyography (EMG)
