TNS Grant Awardee, Dr. Amanda Jagolino-Cole, joins Neurology® Education's Meet the Author series. A series dedicated to meeting the people behind the projects, and to hear the stories behind the studies, shaping neurology education today!
Dr. Amanda Jagolino-Cole, MD, a board-certified vascular neurologist, Associate Professor in the Department of Neurology at McGovern Medical School in Houston, and recipient of a TNS Grant dives deep into her grant-winning curriculum "Training the Front Line - A Neurologic Emergencies Curriculum Pilot for First Responders."
Dr. Jagolino-Cole and her colleagues describe the development and pilot implementation of a neurologic emergencies curriculum designed specifically for first responders. Because emergency medical services (EMS) clinicians are often the first healthcare professionals to encounter patients with neurologic emergencies, their ability to recognize and triage these conditions plays a critical role in patient outcomes.
