Here's what you need to know...

Active Membership - $100/Year

Active membership shall be open to any physician residing and licensed to practice in the State of Texas who shall be certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology or has completed two or more years of Neurology Residency approved, for purposes of certification, by the American Board of Psychology and Neurology. Active membership may also be granted upon review and special permission by the Executive board. 

Allied Health Membership - $100/Year

This category is open to physician assistants who are licensed to practice in Texas by the Texas Medical Board and to Nurse Practitioners and Registered Nurses who are licensed to practice in Texas by the Texas Board of Nursing. Applicants must be actively engaged in neurologic patient care and/or research. Applicants must show proof of licensure. It shall be the duty of the Board of Directors to consider these applications, seeking additional information if necessary. 

Associate Membership - $100/Year

Associate membership shall be open to 1) physicians partially trained in and/or practicing clinical Neurology who are not eligible for Active membership, 2) physicians practicing in clinical fields related to Neurology, 3) Active members who move out of the state of Texas. It shall be the duty of the Board of Directors to consider these applications, seeking additional information if necessary. 

Resident Membership - $0 until completion of Residency Program 

Resident Membership shall be open to all residents and fellows in an approved Neurology Residency training program of the State of Texas. Application shall be made in the usual manner and shall be accompanied by proof that the applicant is in fact currently in such a training program as described above. Resident members may apply for elevation to Active Status with the Society upon the completion of their training program and their meeting the above requirements for Active membership. Resident status is discontinued after completion of the Residency, dismissal from the residency training program, or changing to a Residency Program not located in the State of Texas. Resident members have no vote in society matters and cannot hold Society office. Resident Members are invited guests of the Society to all Society functions including luncheon and dinner meetings at no cost to themselves. 

Trainee Membership - $0 until completion of Medical School 

Trainee Membership shall be open to all Texas Medical Students who are interested in the field of neurology. Application shall be made in the usual manner and accompanied by proof that the applicant is in fact currently in a Texas medical school. Trainee members may apply for elevation to Resident status with the Society upon the completion of their medical school program and upon entering a Texas neurology residency. Trainee status is discontinued after the completion of medical school, dismissal from the medical school program, or changing to a medical school program not located in the State of Texas. Trainee members have no vote in Society matters and cannot hold Society office. Trainee Members are invited guests of the society to all Society functions including luncheon and dinner meetings at no cost to themselves.
