  • 459,000 people aged 65 and older are living with Alzheimer's in Texas. 
  • 1.1 million family caregivers bear the burden of the disease in Texas.
  • $4.3 billion is the cost of Alzheimer's to the state Medicaid programs. 

Proposition 14 will create the nation's largest state-funded dementia research initiative. By investing $3 billion over the next decade, Texas can lead the search for breakthrough treatments and ultimately find as cure. This funding will support the Dementia Prevention and Research Institute of Texas, attracting world-class scientists and launching cutting-edge studies right here in our state. The research conducted in Texas laboratories could transform outcomes for families everywhere.
